The Language of Sedimentation

Travertine is water captured in stone. The voids and channels are the records of thermal springs, laying down calcium carbonate over thousands of years. To cut it is to expose a calendar.

We prefer cross-cut slabs, where the circular patterns of the spring remain visible. We fill only the largest structural voids, leaving the micro-texture raw to catch low-angled winter light.
